Restaurateur Alex Gurevich, who is opening his fourth high-end Japanese concept, is also preparing to expand his brand into Lowry.
Two complaints have been filed under the city’s ordinance, both for platforms listing restaurants without their consent.
The bar and restaurant and its assets, which include a long-term under-market lease, fixtures and a liquor license, went up for sale this month.
“It just felt like we were on a sinking ship,” said co-owner Blair Ednie of the decision, citing a 40 percent drop in sales due to the pandemic.
The Lakewood eatery claims 76-year-old diver Samuel Hernandez didn’t actually apply for a job.
“It’s just not possible to have 100 percent of expenses on 40 percent of revenue,” said the owner of the six-year-old restaurant in Jefferson Park.
“We just weren’t able to make up the volume of losing 75 percent plus of our daytime business,” Mici Handcrafted Italian CEO Elliot Schiffer said.
Franchisees Jason Beld and Marc Rogers already own 10 Fuzzy’s Taco Shop restaurants in Colorado.
