Shake Shack first opened in Denver in 2018.
Denver Pizza Co. first opened in the Golden Triangle in 2009.
Both chains are controlled by Savory, which aims to take brands “from small to regional” before finding a buyer.
American Elm owner Bob Reiter said he’s still deciding what to do with the property, but additional parking is one immediate benefit.
“We want to be the food hall in the suburbs for all the 45-year-olds with two kids that still want to go to Avanti but can’t drag the whole family down there,” Nick Costanzo said.
The Denver restaurateur opened Grange Hall this week with nine food stalls in the former C.B. & Potts brewhouse building.
The national chain’s restaurant along the 16th Street Mall was closed for 15 months due to the pandemic but reopened in June.
“We want to attempt to roll out this brand nationally,” said the Denver restaurateur. “I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like tacos.”
Opus plans to build an apartment complex on the site, which was fenced off last week after being tagged with graffiti.
