A neighboring bike shop, meanwhile, recently closed in the buildings owned by major landlord Edens.
A spokeswoman attributed the closure to “changing demographics and lower enrollment in the area.”
Jason Winkler says he owns 50 percent of the building.
“The project is codenamed Project Willy Wonka,” its CFO reportedly emailed.
The property had been in receivership after its previous owner defaulted on $29 million in loans.
The structure was completed in July 2020. No one has ever moved in.
Offices are out. Apartments are in. A hotel is still in the mix. One building could break ground this year.
The building is leased to RiNo Country Club, a bar with an outdoor mini golf course.
Since 2001, Cherie DuFour has co-owned Herb’s, a nightclub two blocks from Coors Field in Denver that dates to the 1930s.
