The founder of the popular coffee shop is feuding with the investors and operator that now control it.
“For the majority of independent restaurants, if not all, this makes zero sense. And all it does is hurt them,” said restaurateur Juan Padro.
The restaurateur bought the remaining five-year lease at 2400 W. 32nd Ave. from the pizzeria, which is moving two blocks south to 3000 Zuni St.
The Realtor who introduced them to each other is also a partner in the project, a Detroit-style pizza joint called Red Tops Rendezvous.
