“Up-and-coming artists, musicians and chefs steer clear of Cherry Creek right now — and we are aiming to change that,” said developer Matt Joblon.
“I think we’re going pretty deep into a recession and I think it’s going to be drawn out, unfortunately,” BMC Investments CEO Matt Joblon said.
The developer bought the site for a combined $6.8 million last summer.
But don’t expect the high-end gym brand to open anytime soon.
Matt Joblon, the man behind office building Financial House, and hotels Halcyon and Moxy, is now building in Aurora.
The AC Hotels by Marriott property would have 150 rooms and be developed by an Arizona-based company.
The deal is “kind of bittersweet, to be honest with you,” said seller Matt Joblon, noting the two companies that developed the project moved their offices there.
It’s the second sale in a month by BMC Investments and Oak Coast Properties, both to the same buyer.
A Utah-based company bought the complex from Denver-based BMC Investments and California-based Oak Coast Properties.
