Bradley Roulier and Michael McCray say Hussam Kayali owes them $500,000. The Cabin Tap House building where a fatal shooting occurred Jan. 1 has a new owner.
Here we go again. The Cabin Tap House is adjacent to the Beta Nightclub, which had its licenses stripped after a similar hearing over safety violations.
A city official made the decision after determining the owner of the LoDo nightclub violated state liquor laws and fire safety codes.
Two people died and two were wounded New Year’s Day in The Cabin Tap House at 1919 Blake St.
The decision was based on evidence of violations provided by police who worked undercover and off-duty at the bar. The Department of Excise and Licenses director will have the final say.
“I got new management, new security,” said Hussam Kayali, whose Denver nightclub faces possible fines or the loss of its liquor and cabaret licenses.
The city alleges several licensing code violations, including distributing cocaine, a lack of licensed security, frequent fights and fire infractions.
It is accused of 10 alleged violations of municipal code and state law, including having inadequate security and allowing the distribution of cocaine.
The club could lose its liquor and cabaret licenses after being accused by the city of allowing patrons to sell cocaine.
