If the pandemic hadn’t struck, Sharon Nelson says she likely would have extended her lease.
The Lotus Medical dispensary operates within the Elephant Corral building at 1444 Wazee St.
It’s the first retailer known to have committed to the project.
The Seattle-based kitchen products retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week.
“If you don’t already have bikes on order that you would receive before the end of this year, you’re not getting them before the snow flies,” one shop owner said.
The store on Fillmore Street opened in 2016.
The company’s five pilot urban walkup locations are slated for Denver, Omaha, and Des Moines and Ames, Iowa.
“We’re sandwiched between two hot tub stores and we’re right on the highway,” but the new spot has more space and a trail down to the river, owner Tucker Ladd said.
“I think a lot of people are substituting their spend … in updating their home,” co-founder and CEO Lee Mayer said.
The current owner bought the property in 2018 for $891,800.
