A Burger King and two small retail strip centers, whose tenants include a laundromat, a Mexican restaurant and a dentist’s office, are at the site now.
The Minneapolis-based chain’s 30,000-square-foot space at the Exchange at Boulevard One complex will be about a quarter the size of the retailer’s typical stores.
“The neighborhood is already knocking on the door and getting excited for us to come here, which makes me want to work harder,” co-owner Brett McNamee-Hooper said.

The Dallas-based bus carrier moved its Denver operations to Union Station as of Oct. 1.
“Given that we’ve not had anybody, I unfortunately don’t anticipate there being one,” said Katie Sisk, who owns one of the six condos at 900 E. 1st Ave.
The 12,220-square-foot location at the Colorado Center was originally slated to open in April, but then the pandemic arrived.
“We pioneered trying to run a retail business on Brighton Boulevard,” a Do-It-Ur-Self executive told BusinessDen last year.
The ownership group, which purchased the site in 2019, hammered out a Good Neighbor Agreement that runs 67 pages.
StoryBuilt, which changed its name last year, owns at least one other site in Denver.
