Meghan Nelson heard horror stories about Denver’s fitness industry while working these past two years and decided to offer an alternative.
“I have been here pretty much my whole career,” said Annie Levinsky, who will be joining History Colorado as chief of staff.
“It’s just an asset. I’m not emotionally connected to it,” co-owner Amin Suliaman told BusinessDen.
The developer wants to replace the existing packaging facility with a 500-unit, 12-story residential building and a seven-story office building.
The structures could have nearly 850 units between them.
Billups bailed around the same time that The Flyfisher Group, a Five Points landlord facing a tenant rebellion, joined the project.
The property’s most recent tenants were a gym and three restaurants: Larkburger, Einstein Bros. Bagels and Wild Eggs. But most of those have been gone for a couple years.
The company has multiple models suitable for use as mountain cabins, backyard offices, or dwelling units for parents, in-laws or college students returning home.
Residents allege Number 38 violated its city license within days. The owners dispute that and say they are following the rules.
Owner Terry Walsh paid $850,000 for 1,900 square feet at 7100 W. 38th Ave., previously home to Right Coast Pizza.
