Benny’s Restaurant & Cantina at 301 E. 7th Ave. will have a new look and a slightly different name, said owner Benjamin Armas.
The seller built the mansion on a 55-acre estate with her late husband, the grandson of famed Denver architect Temple Hoyne Buell.
The third partner in breakfast spot Fox and The Hen is Michael Fox, who owns a wholesale breakfast burrito business.
“I think it has this magic of being a very nostalgic, retro treat,” said Natalie Slevin of her pastry. “The fact that it’s vegan makes it a little more special.”
At $11 million and $10 million, respectively, the two homes are the highest-priced listings in the city.
“It was a risk. But if you’re in the restaurant business, you’re in the business of risk,” said Rio Grande’s owner, who bought the new real estate last year.
