A hotel project in RiNo is under construction, a full year after officials posed with shovels at a formal groundbreaking ceremony.
Work began on the Vib (pronounced “vibe”) hotel at 3560 Brighton Blvd. in recent weeks. Best Western, which owns the new brand, announced the project was “officially underway” in a Sept. 11 press release.
The hotel is slated to have 140 rooms, as well as 2,000 square feet of conference space and a rooftop bar and eatery.
Vib hotels currently only operate in Springfield, Missouri; Bangkok, Thailand; and Antalya, Turkey. But Best Western said the Denver location is one of 17 more in the works in North America.
The hotel is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2021.
The project is being developed by Englewood-based TWC Management, which also owns three other Best Western hotels in northeastern Colorado and Wyoming, according to its website.
TWC LLC bought the 0.43-acre corner lot in January 2018 for $3.29 million. It was then transferred in March of this year to an entity called Denver 3560 LLC, which lists an office address corresponding to Best Western headquarters in Arizona.
TWC CEO Jennifer Gipfert did not respond to a request for comment.
RiNo has two existing hotels, and one other one under construction. Zeppelin Development’s The Source, which opened in 2018, is currently the only hotel along Brighton. The other side of RiNo has The Ramble Hotel. Sage Hospitality, meanwhile, expects to open a hotel dubbed Catbird by the 38th and Blake station next year.
