After finding a permanent location in RiNo in January, former pop-up shop Foreign Form has closed.
The gallery and retail store located at 2719 Larimer St. made the announcement on its Facebook page Sunday.
“The way we were welcomed into Denver was an absolute honor and we loved every second of creating a gathering place for those seeking a creative community,” the post reads. “From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each and every one of you for supporting the vision of Foreign Form and for allowing us to create something truly special in the city we love most.”
Contacted by BusinessDen, co-founder Sammy Steen described the closure as partly the result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Steen, Jason Siegel and Mike Delaney launched Foreign Form as a “new retail experience that falls somewhere between a concept store, fine art gallery and cultural hub,” according to the store’s site.
The three friends held seasonal pop-ups in Aspen, Denver and Sun Valley, Idaho before landing on Larimer Street.
The store’s first floor housed a variety of high-end contemporary clothing, jewelry and art. The second floor acted as an art gallery with original work from Hunter S. Thompson, Ralph Steadman and Thomas Benton.
“We were lucky to have been the first to publicly activate the historic, two-story building at 2719 Larimer where Foreign Form made its most recent home,” the owners continued in the Facebook post. “The building is something rare and we’d love to help our amazing landlords fill the space come June. Please reach out to us if you’re interested and we can put you in touch with the right people to allow this one of a kind space to live on.”
