A plastic surgeon in Cherry Creek has sold his medical office building to a bank.
Solera National Bank paid $6.7 million this month for 36 Steele St., which has about 15,000 square feet in three levels.
The deal also included a narrow parking lot at 25 Adams St., behind and across an alley from the building. Combined, the parcels are 18,787 square feet, or 0.43 acres. The site is across the street from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.
Broker Roche Fore, of Buell & Co., represented seller Steele Corp LLC, which purchased the parcels in August 2016 for $4.6 million, records show.
Dr. Jack Zamora, who practices in the building, controls the majority of the entity.
Zamora told BusinessDen he bought the building primarily to serve as a training center for J-Plazty, a procedure he developed that uses plasma energy to tighten skin without the need for large incisions. Since then, he’s also developed InfiniVive MD, a topical treatment that uses stem cells taken from umbilical cords.
Zamora said he regularly has doctors travel from out of state to learn the procedures in his Cherry Creek office. But he’s decided it’s more effective for him to do the traveling to places where he can reach hundreds of doctors at a time.
“We realized it’s more effective to go to larger-level symposiums,” Zamora said, adding he also knew his real estate had grown in value.
Zamora said he is leasing back the building for now, and has options that allow him to stay as little as six months or as long as three years.
“That flexibility is paramount for our business as we see how quickly this international growth occurs,” he said.
Solera National Bank currently has one branch, at 319 Sheridan Blvd. in Lakewood. CEO Martin May did not respond to a request for comment.
