Chipotle is on to you, customer who asks for a cup for water and then sneaks a little free soda.
The Denver-based burrito chain has a sign up on the soda machine at the location across from East High School on Colfax Avenue written with the chain’s standard pep to deter soda thieves.
Soda is one of the most lucrative products restaurants sell; fountain sodas in particular have a markup of more than 1,000 percent.
