The florist shop owners who executed a $7.65 million land deal in Cherry Creek this month have turned around and bought a shuttered Walmart Neighborhood Market in southwest Denver.
Newberry Family LLC purchased 3125 S. Sheridan Blvd. on Thursday for $6.2 million, according to county records.
The LLC is controlled by Paula Newberry-Arnold and son Kien Arnold, who own florist shop Newberry Brothers, which operates at 5301 Leetsdale Drive in Denver.
On July 13, the family sold the 0.86-acre 201 N. Garfield St. parcel in Cherry Creek, where the florist shop operated until several years ago, to a developer for $7.65 million.
The 41,183-square-foot building at 3125 S. Sheridan Blvd. is vacant. The structure was home to a Walmart Neighborhood Market for several years, but the business closed in March 2017.
The 0.52-acre parcel was sold by Duke Family Partnership LLC, which has controlled the site for decades. The entity is managed by Richard C. Duke.
Drew Isaac and Brian Bailey of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller.
Duke Family Partnership LLC continues to own two nearby parcels, 5550 and 5600 W. Dartmouth Ave., which are home to a McDonald’s and a strip mall.

You may want to check your facts before reporting. The Walmart property was the only one sold to the Newberry Family. I am one of the lease holders of the other Duke property’s and was wondering why The Dukes wouldn’t have told us we have new landlords. I called the city registrars Office and found out that the Walmart Property was the o lu one sold. You may want to retract your article with the real facts. It would be much appreciated.
Bad reporting. I don’t believe land under McDonald’s and small shopping center were not a part of the sale.
