A mansion in Greenwood Village has been listed for $7.5 million.

“Because it’s tucked back in horse property, it’s like falling off into Iowa even though it takes us 15 to 20 minutes to get downtown,” Judy Pogge said. “It’s like being in the middle of a country oasis.”

Pogge said she and husband Jack built the home 17 years ago, and she had a say in many of the design features, including the kitchen.

“I love to bake and cook, and so we have three ovens in the main kitchen, plus a warming oven,” she said. “I can cook and bake to my heart’s content.”

The couple has three children.

Although the property includes 7 acres and a barn that can hold three horse stalls, the family never had horses, but has had dogs, an iguana and a cockatiel.

“It’s just beautiful back here, but my husband didn’t grow up in the country like I did,” Pogge said. “I grew up with farmland. He’s more of a city guy. I’ve got my 17 years and I think now he’d like to travel, and not necessarily live in the city but live in more of a neighborhood.”

Address: 5350 S. Steele St.

Listing price: $7.5 million

Stats: 14,000 square feet with nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. The home also comes with 7 acres and a separate carriage house.

Seller: Judy and Jack Pogge. Jack Pogge is president of software company CSG Systems in Greenwood Village.

Listing broker: Libby Weaver with The Kentwood Co.

The finer things: The property includes a nanny suite, carriage house, tennis court and six garages.
