The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and an upstart marijuana chamber have buried the hatchet over a logo dispute.

In late April, the Denver Metro Chamber sued the newly established Colorado Cannabis Chamber of Commerce, alleging that the two logos were too similar and were confusing Metro Chamber customers.

The Colorado Cannabis Chamber now has a new logo.

“I like this logo much more than the previous one,” said Tyler Henson, the president of the Colorado Cannabis Chamber.

Henson said he didn’t have the budget for a drawn-out legal battle.

The Metro Chamber claimed that the two organizations' original logos were too similar.

“We’re new, and it wouldn’t have benefited our members,” he said. “It was easier for us to change the logo and move forward.”

Henson said the Colorado Chamber of Commerce has 26 members and works to protect and promote licensed and regulated cannabis industry companies.

Kelly Brough, the Denver Metro Chamber’s president and CEO, said her office first became aware of the Cannabis Chamber’s logo earlier this year.

“We’re glad it’s resolved,” Brough said. “Whenever a company can be mistaken for another organization, that’s why we have trademark laws. We’re glad it’s settled and behind us.”
