A Denver sausage maker is back in the starting lineup at Coors Field.
After a five-year hiatus, Polidori Sausage is selling five products to Coors Field.
CEO Melodie Polidori said her company is supplying the Rockies with sausages of the bratwurst, polish, hatch chili cheese, chorizo and spicy Italian varieties.
The hotdogs still will be provided by Nathan’s, she said.
Melodie said she anticipates selling about 40,000 pounds of meat to the Rockies during baseball season. The company produces about 200,000 pounds per month out of a Park Hill warehouse. It moved from LoHi to Park Hill in 2015.
Polidori also will get some branding around Coors Field as part of the deal. Melodie said she wants to use the exposure to push retail sales around Colorado.
“We hope people go to the grocery store and pick up a package of Polidori instead of Johnsonville,” she said.
Grocery store sales account for roughly 25 percent of Polidori’s business. The rest is wholesale to restaurants, Melodie said.
This is not the company’s first sports venue deal. Polidori also sells to arenas and stadiums at Colorado State and DU.
