A Phoenix apartment developer with a large Denver portfolio wants to add more than 200 units to Uptown.
Alliance Residential has submitted plans to the city proposing residential complexes at 1780 Marion St. and 1160 E. 18th St.
The two corner lots are across the street from each other on the edge of the St. Joseph Hospital campus. The plans, which have yet to receive city approval, call the developments Broadstone Uptown and Broadstone Uptown West.
Alliance, which did not respond to a request for comment, doesn’t own either property.
The 0.57-acre 1780 Marion St. lot is owned by Mile High Child Association and home to Mile High Montessori Early Learning Center. The 0.46-acre vacant lot at 1160 E. 18th St. lot is owned by Childrens Hospital Association, according to property records.
The plans for Broadstone Uptown at 1780 Marion call for one five-story and one eight-story structure on the lot, with a combined 157,000 square feet and 116 units: 46 studios, 47 one-bedrooms and 23 two-bedrooms.
The 102,800-square-foot Broadstone Uptown West at 1160 E. 18th would have 107 units, according to plans: 22 studios, 64 one-bedrooms and 21 two-bedrooms.

The map in the article is incorrect. The two properties are on both sides of Marion, not the alley.
