Bargain lovers, rejoice: a third outlet mall is coming to the northern suburbs.

Construction on the Denver Premium Outlets in Thornton started Thursday.

The upcoming retail center is located at the northeast corner of Interstate 25 and 136th Avenue. It will join the Outlets at Loveland and the Outlets at Castle Rock, both along the interstate.

The mall is the third project in Colorado by Simon Property Group, which also operates Denver West Village mall and Colorado Mills Mall, both in Lakewood. Following hail damage in May, Colorado Mills aims to reopen by Black Friday.

Sitting on 45 acres, the 330,000-square-foot outdoor outlets will comprise about 80 stores. The tenant list is still being assembled.

Denver-based Whiting-Turner is the general contractor, Kimley-Horn is the landscape architect and Cincinnati-based FRCH is the architect.

The Denver Premium Outlets are slated to open in a year.
