Feeling congested in its current digs, a RiNo health tech startup has found a cure for cramped quarters.
CirrusMD, a telemedicine startup, plans to move into 6,500 square feet at Catalyst HTI next spring. The new office development under construction on Brighton Boulevard is targeting healthcare-related tenants.
“The organizations that we work with around the country are payers and providers,” said CirrusMD chief operating officer Scott Johnson. “(It’s important) to have our headquarters in a building surrounded by other innovative payers and providers.”
Started five years ago, CirrusMD sells doctor-texting software to insurance companies and healthcare providers. The startup says its services reach 3 million patients through customers like Texas Health Aetna and Rocky Mountain Health Plans.
SEC filings show it has raised at least $11.4 million in venture funding. But the company has outgrown its space at 3330 Larimer St.

“We’re bursting at the seams,” Johnson said.
That’s why the company looked across the train tracks to Catalyst, which broke ground last October at 3513 Brighton Blvd. with plans for 180,000 square feet for health tech offices, retail and event space. As of last year, Catalyst had tenants AngelMD, Medical Group Management and Hitachi Consulting.
Johnson said Catalyst HTI’s meeting rooms were another selling point as the startup pitches new business.
“We are really excited about the additional space where we can host larger groups,” he said. “The ability to collaborate and host meetings and interactions is important.”
Plus, CirrusMD is growing. The startup has 24 employees and expects to approach 50 in 2018.
“We anticipate doubling our employees over the next year or so,” Johnson said. Most new hires will help bolster sales, account management, customer service and development and engineering departments.
But CirrusMD is not waiting for the new office to start hiring. For the time being, it has expanded 745 extra square feet on Larimer Street.
