Breathe deeply, Highlands homebodies: Lululemon is coming.

The Canadian apparel retailer last week signed a lease in Highlands Square, landlord Steve Elken confirmed. Lululemon also has added the location, 3420 W. 32nd Ave., to its website.

“It complements the kind of profile of the homeowners that live there, the lifestyle of the area,” Elken said. “It’ll be a great addition.”

Lululemon will move into a 2,500-square-foot retail space formerly occupied by clothing store Melrose & Madison and will share a building with Pure Barre and Pinot’s Palette.

The Zall Co. represented Elken’s Elko Properties in the lease. Scheiner Commercial Group is the general contractor on the store’s buildout.

Lululemon is in the midst of shuffling its Denver real estate. The company is planning to move from the sidewalks of Cherry Creek North into the shopping center across the street this fall. Meanwhile, it is closing Ivivva, a youth brand also in the shopping center, as that brand moves online.

A store manager at the chain’s Cherry Creek location confirmed that Lululemon will open in Highlands Square in late fall.

If the density of yoga studios in the Highlands are any guide, Lululemon’s core customers won’t have to travel far to the new store. The neighborhood is already home to Endorphin, CorePower Yoga and The Mama ‘Hood, among other fitness studios.

And the timing seems auspicious, too. Lululemon’s second quarter earnings, released Thursday, surpassed industry analyst’s projections.
