Two more Highlands-based businesses are touching down in Stapleton.
Symmetry 360 Massage and dessert shop Happy Cakes have leased space in the forthcoming Stanley Marketplace development. They’re the second and third Highlands-based shops Stanley has lured, and Mark Shaker of developer Flightline Ventures said to expect five to seven more.
“When we first started, we built strong relationships with some key tenants, and they went out and recruited all of their friends,” Shaker said. “It’s not surprising they’ve come from the Highlands; businesses in the Highlands seem to grasp a community concept better than other places.”
Symmetry 360 is taking 1,400 square feet on Stanley Marketplace’s second floor. Happy Cakes will fill 400 square feet on the ground level.
Stanley Marketplace will be the fourth location for Symmetry 360. Owner Celeste O’Brien said she’s been looking for space in the Aurora area and liked the idea of going in with a slew of other businesses that could bring in potential customers.
“You can open a location anywhere, but what’s exciting is they really thought out the businesses that are going to be there and how to support a community,” she said. “It’s really lonely on an island, but we’re all together on this big island.”
So far Symmetry 360 has outlets on 32nd Avenue in the Highlands, in Golden and at the Denver Tech Center. Happy Cakes is on 32nd Avenue, in Longmont and at the Denver International Airport.
Both concepts are following 32nd Avenue neighbor Kismet out to Stapleton. The clothing and accessories shop announced in February that it would open its fourth location at Stanley Marketplace.
“We’ve been looking for businesses that have three or four existing locations, so they have a positive growth trajectory,” Shaker said.
Flightline is building Stanley Marketplace in a 140,000-square-foot warehouse that served as a production facility for Stanley Aviation five years ago. The Stapleton-based development firm bought the building at 2501 Dallas St. and its 22 acres last year for $2.75 million, according to Adams County records.
Fitness concepts Endorphin and Kindness Yoga, Logan House Coffee Co. and nail salon Tootsies are also among nearly 125 tenants Shaker said have either signed leases or letters of intent at Stanley Marketplace.
Shaker said nearly all the space at Stanley Marketplace is spoken for, and Flightline is in the process of working letters of intent into finalized leases. He expects to roll out a few restaurant tenants in the coming week. Plans also call for a brewery and beer hall and a second-floor co-working space. The project is slated to open in January 2016.
