Former Broncos punter Britton Colquitt has given his Castle Rock mansion the boot, selling it for $2.25 million.
Colquitt, who signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2016 after six seasons with the Broncos, bought the home at 5085 Knobcone Drive in 2013 for $1.75 million, according to property records. Broker Dan Polimino with Colorado Dream House Team represented Colquitt in the sale.
“It was one of the truly custom homes in the neighborhood – the stonework, the design, the attention to detail,” Polimino said.
Property records show Colquitt sold his home to David Reynolds in a deal recorded May 24.
The 8,421-square-foot home has a heated brick driveway to melt snow and a memorabilia room with built-in glass cases for the punter’s trophies and career keepsakes. Polimino said the basement features a 102-inch theater system and a bar with a two keg taps.
But it isn’t all fun and games in the house: In case of an emergency, Polimino said, a secret passageway unlocks behind a bookshelf to unveil a space including a closet and bathroom.
“There was a panic or hidden room in the house where somebody could secure themselves in the event of an intruder,” Polimino said.
