The latest round of CHFA tax credit awards is giving a boost to projects that would add more than 700 apartments to the Denver metro area.

The Colorado Housing and Finance Authority distributed more than $20 million in state and federal tax credits this week to 12 proposed affordable housing complexes around Colorado. Twenty projects seeking more than $16 million in state tax credits and $18 million in federal tax credits applied for this round.

The tax credit-winning developments will add 940 new subsidized apartments statewide. Five other proposals in those three municipalities were denied tax credits in this batch of awards.
