A pair of Denver-based real estate companies liked sharing an office space so much, they stuck together when they relocated around the corner into a 17th Street suite.
Tenant rep brokerage Cresa and BGL Facilities Consultants each worked a part of the deal at their new office: Cresa found and leased the space, while BGL made sure that each cardboard box ended up on the right desk, ready to unpack.
“It’s a much more efficient use of our space,” said Bill Baldwin, Cresa’s managing principal in Denver. “The other thing that the new space allows us to do is have a very open common area,” he said, adding that it’s an advantage when Cresa hosts events.
The businesses are moving into 14,000 square feet on the 12th floor at 1001 17th St., steps from their previous office at 1515 Arapahoe St. The new office has room for 60 people, Baldwin said; the companies combined have 47 employees working out of 17th Street. The lease term is five years.
As part of a deal that closed last month, Baldwin said, BGL and Cresa’s Denver office are owned by the same group, Cresa Global. That group includes 14 Cresa brokerages, which previously were independently owned. Lynda Schroer, BGL owner and principal, will stay on to lead BGL’s 18 employees in Denver.
Cresa, a tenant rep brokerage, recently represented accounting firm Eide Baily in its lease at One Belleview Station in the Denver Tech Center. This is its only office in Colorado.
BGL primarily works in office design and corporate relocations, sketching new layouts and coordinating logistics when large companies like Whole Foods and Wells Fargo move hundreds of employees into a new office.
