The Vail Valley’s most expensive home sale ever closed this month for $23 million.
The 11,500-square-foot ski-in, ski-out property, on the market since September 2014, sits on a plot first staked out by a pair of Vail’s original investors and socialites.
Oilman Vernon “Moose” Taylor and his wife, Ann, were known for throwing glamorous dinner parties at their Vail home in the 1960s, hosting the likes of Truman Capote and Henry Kissinger. The house was rebuilt, except for the original main hallway, in 2007.
The listing broker for the property, 107 Rockledge Road, was Donna Caynoski of Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate. The buyer’s agent was Tye Stockton of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty.
