Home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond is leaving its longtime home in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center for the shuttered Sports Authority space in Glendale.
It will move into the former sporting goods store at Colorado Boulevard and Alameda Avenue in late 2017, a company spokeswoman confirmed. The company’s plan is to relocate their current store at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center to the Glendale location.
The home goods store will take up about 44,000 square feet at the building, which sits between a Target and a PetSmart at 370 S. Colorado Blvd.
The big box location went dark earlier this year after Sports Authority slid into bankruptcy. The Denver Post reported this location was one store that Dick’s Sporting Goods bid on during the bankruptcy process.
The Cherry Creek Shopping Center did not return a call seeking comment.

That whole side of Cherry Creek Shopping Center has great potential to be redeveloped. There is a lot of dead space between the Macy’s furniture store and the restaurants across the way. I say tear it all down and start over.
1. Cheaper space
2. Single floor
3. Free parking
Bingo!
