Leven Deli is sandwiching itself firmly downtown.
The Jewish-style delicatessen has leased 6,600 retail square feet in Block 162 at 675 15th St., the building’s Houston-based developer Patrinely Group said Thursday. It’s the first retail tenant to sign on to downtown’s newest office tower, which was completed in spring 2021.
Leven will be located in the building’s largest retail unit, and plans call for a full-service experience: a larger menu with more lunch and dinner choices, a full bar with wine service, an open kitchen and an atmosphere with fully grown live trees.
In a statement, Leven founder Anthony Lygizos said the tower appealed in part due to its proximity to the Colorado Convention Center.

“We have looked at new locations for some time now and believe that this building and the endless possibilities it provides will allow us to bring new life to the area,” Lygizos said.
Leven has one location at 1200 Bannock St. in the Golden Triangle, which has been open since 2018.
But the business adding more to its plate: Just last month, Lygizos announced plans for Leven Supply, a fast-service joint in Wash Park serving up pre-packaged sandwiches and grocery items like olive oil and wine.
He has also leased nearly 12,000 square feet at 4190 Garfield St. on the opposite end of town in Elyria-Swansea. The plan is to move the business’ production there, easing up operations at the restaurants.
Lygizos told BusinessDen last month that he planned to open full-service restaurants in office buildings.
“We’re at capacity and our team is in a position where they’re looking for opportunities to grow,” Lygizos said last month. “We need to grow if we want to help our people grow.”
The 30-story, 600,000-square-foot Block 162 office tower broke ground in 2018 and was completed three years later. The building was 50 percent leased by the end of last year and currently sits at a 35 percent vacancy, the developer said Thursday.
Two retail spaces totaling 3,500 square feet remain vacant in the building.
