Dog owners on the northern side of downtown are getting more options when it comes to checkups.
Three veterinary chains have taken space in the area stretching from Union Station to Platte Street.
GoodVets, a Chicago-based company, is preparing to open at 1615 Platte St., while Denver-based Sploot Veterinary Care has leased space at 1441 Little Raven St., according to signage at both spots.
Dallas-based CityVet, meanwhile, plans to open at 1691 Chestnut Place, according to the company’s website.
Sploot was founded in 2021 by Yoav Mordowicz and Gil Bolotin. It opened its first location at 3773 Julian St. in West Highland, and added a second in RiNo last October. The location on Little Raven Street is one of three the company said in a 2022 news release that it expected to open in Denver this year; the others are in Platt Park and Cherry Creek.
“Having more locations across the Denver area means we’ll be able to offer even more same-day or next-day appointments to pet parents,” Joyce Lee, vice president of marketing, said at the time.
Sploot is poised to be the first retail tenant to open at the base of the 35-story Confluence apartment building, which was completed in 2017. A Korean barbecue restaurant previously signed a lease, but never opened and has sued the landlord; the case is ongoing.
