An accounting firm is the second tenant to commit to a new RiNo office building.
Milwaukee-based Wipfli leased about 15,000 square feet on the fifth floor of The Current, which is nearing completion at 3615 Delgany St., according to Pete Aden, a Wipfli partner and leader of the company’s Rocky Mountain region.
The new office, which Wipfli expects to move into later this year, will consolidate existing company offices at 7887 E. Belleview Ave. in the Denver Tech Center and at 14143 W. Denver Parkway in Lakewood.
Wipfli has about 35,000 square feet across those two offices, meaning “we’re significantly downsizing our footprint,” Aden said.
“A lot of it is the working from home, working remote.”
Wipfli also has an office in Loveland, which isn’t being consolidated into the RiNo one.
Wipfli was founded by Clarence J. Wipfli and is unfortunately often mistakenly called “wi-fi,” Aden said. The firm established and has grown its Colorado presence through acquisitions. Wipfli acquired Bauerle and Company in 2018, Stratagem in 2020 and Hughes & Company in 2021.

The Denver Tech Center office was previously Bauerle, and the Lakewood office was once Stratagem. Leases for those spaces are up this summer, Aden said, and a consolidation offered the opportunity to “unify the culture between the offices.”
The company wanted neutral ground, Aden said, something that wasn’t closer to one office than the other. That made downtown and RiNo the logical spots to look.
“We really saw the vision of RiNo as being up-and-coming and vibrant,” he said.
Wipfli has a lot of clients in the construction and real estate sectors, Aden said, with tech an increasingly important market as well.
About 130 people will nominally be based out of the RiNo office, although the firm is putting in workspaces for about 80. Employees and their managers determine how often they need to come in.
“Nobody’s required to come in five days … other than our front desk receptionist,” he said.
The 12-story, 235,000-square-foot The Current is being developed by Seattle-based Schnitzer West and is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. The only other tenant committed to The Current is Moye White, which announced in January 2021 that it had taken 42,500 square feet, becoming the first major law firm to lease in RiNo.
There are four office buildings under construction in RiNo after the recent groundbreaking of Steelhouse at 3100 Brighton Blvd.
