A downtown Evergreen Mexican restaurant has permanently closed its doors and filed for bankruptcy.
Twisted Pete LLC, which operated as Maya’s Cantina and Grill at CO-74, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy earlier this month. The restaurant opened in 2017.
Chapter 7 bankruptcies are typically a liquidation process involving a selloff of the debtor’s assets.
The company said it owes $167,587 to 16 creditors with unsecured claims. It valued its assets at $100, although it said that didn’t include materials on hand such as 64 tequila bottles, 68 vodka bottles and 76 cans of beer and hard seltzer.
Creditors listed in the filing include Toast Capital, a company that helps fund restaurants.
Peter Gerrity signed the filings on behalf of Twisted Pete. Attorney Katharine Sender with Cohen & Cohen is representing the company in bankruptcy proceedings. Sender did not respond to requests for comment.
