Today’s special: No cavities.
The former Pete’s Greek Town Cafe building at 2910 E. Colfax Ave. has sold for $2 million, records show.
The new owner is Grin Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, according to Avant Group broker Jason Ruscio, who represented the company in the deal.
Ruscio said the company plans to renovate the existing building and operate in a portion of it.
“They’re going to completely upgrade it,” he said.
Ruscio said he’ll be marketing the remaining portion of the building for lease on behalf of the firm. The building is about 5,000 square feet, according to property records, and sits on a 0.51-acre lot, with parking in the rear.
Grin already has five locations in the Denver area, according to its website. Ruscio said the new 2910 E. Colfax location will replace an existing office at 10401 E. Colfax Ave. in Aurora.
Pete’s Greek Town Cafe was established by Pete Contos, a prominent Denver restaurateur who died in 2019 at age 85. The restaurant never reopened after the pandemic struck, and by November 2020 was being marketed for lease.
Local franchisees for Dave’s Hot Chicken subsequently signed a lease but terminated it before opening, putting the property back on the market.
The property was sold by the Contos family. Other restaurants established by Contos remain open, including University Park Cafe and Satire Lounge.
