The owner of a Tennyson Street restaurant has sold its real estate for more than twice what he paid in 2015.
The converted bungalow where Cozy Cottage operates at 4363 Tennyson St. sold for $1.8 million on Nov. 18, according to public records.
The property was sold by Michael Mueller, who paid $850,000 for it in 2015, records show. He is the owner of Cozy Cottage, according to the restaurant’s website.
Mueller didn’t respond to a request for comment Monday. He and his late mother started Cozy Cottage in 2006, according to the restaurant’s website. It originally operated near the University of Denver before moving to the Berkeley neighborhood in 2011. The restaurant remains open in the wake of the sale.
The property was purchased by 4363 Tennyson LLC, an entity affiliated with Dallas-based real estate firm Rue. That company also owns the former Green Door Furniture building a couple blocks away at 3985 Tennyson St., where the salad chain Sweetgreen plans to open.
Rue founder Jeremy Zidell didn’t respond to a request for comment.
Other recent deals along the retail corridor include the sale of Small Batch Liquors at 4340 Tennyson St. to a group including the CEO of Denver-based Topo Designs and the $5.3 million sale of the corner retail building at 4275 Tennyson St.
