The place won’t be completely full of lawyers.
The developer of Block 162, downtown Denver’s newest skyscraper, announced the building’s sixth tenant last week and the first that isn’t a law firm.
Houston-based Patrinely Group, which developed the building with USAA Real Estate, said the accounting, consulting and wealth management firm Moss Adams has leased 24,780 square feet on the building’s 19th floor.
Seattle-based Moss Adams, whose Denver office is currently at 1999 Broadway, expects to move in during the first quarter.
The 30-story Block 162 building at 675 15th St. was completed in the spring of 2021. The building’s six leases add up to about 225,000 square feet, about 40 percent of the total office space.
Prior to the latest deal, leasing activity at Block 162 involved one law firm after another.
Denver’s Sherman & Howard was first, announcing its 60,000-square-foot lease shortly before the building was completed and moving its headquarters for the first time in 45 years.
Smaller leases were then signed for Haynes and Boone, Michael Best & Friedrich and Lathrop GPM, all of them relocating an existing Denver office.
Then, in May, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck joined the march, announcing the biggest lease yet — 100,000 square feet across floors 26 through 29.
Moss Adams was represented by Matt Harbert and Alex Hammerstein of CBRE, now with RaiseCommercial Real Estate. Todd Wheeler and Doug Wulf of Cushman & Wakefield, and Phillip Moore of Patrinely Group, directed by Dennis Tarro of Patrinely Group, represented the landlord.
