A senior managing director for a Maryland-based real estate firm is making moves in Denver, much like the company itself.

Allan Edelson, who works for Walker & Dunlop, and his wife purchased an 8,598-square-foot home at 3575 Belcaro Lane in the Belcaro neighborhood for $5.5 million in February, earning the top spot among local residential transactions for the month.

Walker & Dunlop CEO Willy Walker, who relocated to Denver in 2019, previously said the firm has been ramping up operations here since it acquired JCR Capital, a Denver-based asset management firm, in 2018.

The Edelsons purchased the four-bedroom, eight-bathroom home from seller Robert Melvin, CEO of Denver-based Re-Steel Supply Co. The couple’s son, Sam Edelson with Modus Real Estate, represented them in the deal.

Melvin bought the land for $1 million in 2007, according to property records, and hired Barsch Design to design the custom built home, which took three years to complete.

“The seller calls it the villa and spared no expense using some of the highest-end materials worldwide, like mahogany and Brazilian floors,” said listing agent Bob Kelly with Kentwood Real Estate DTC.
