Another law firm plans to move into Hines’ tower at 1144 15th St.
Stinson is taking three-fourths of the building’s 24th floor, about 20,000 square feet, according to documents submitted to the city seeking permits to build out the space.
The Kansas City-based firm is the sixth law firm to lease at the 40-story building, which was completed by Houston-based Hines in 2018.
A spokeswoman for Stinson declined to comment.
Stinson already has an office downtown in Independence Plaza, at 1050 17th St., according to the firm’s website. It moved into the building in 2018, taking about 7,000 square feet, according to a news release from the firm at the time.
A second, more established local office is in the Denver Tech Center, at 6400 S. Fiddlers Green Circle.
Besides the two in Denver, Stinson has 11 other offices around the country. The firm says on its website that it has nearly 500 attorneys.
The 24th floor is one of six in 1144 Fifteenth — floors 20 through 25 — that were originally leased by Chipotle for its headquarters. But the firm never moved in, instead announcing in 2018 that it would move operations to Southern California, where its newly hired CEO lived.
Chipotle is still trying to unload floors 20 through 22, according to CoStar data. But tech law firm Cooley has leased the 23rd floor, and Royal Gold and PNC Bank have split the 25th.
Besides Stinson, the other five law firms that lease space at 1144 Fifteenth are Arnold & Porter, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath, Greenspoon Marder, Greenberg Traurig and the aforementioned Cooley.
1144 Fifteenth is the city’s most recently completed skyscraper, although it will lose that designation soon to Houston-based Patrinely’s Block 162 tower at 675 15th St.
Another law firm making a move downtown is Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie, which is taking the top floor of McGregor Square’s office building after more than three decades at the Tabor Center.
