Denver-based indie-rock band The Lumineers is bringing a taste of home on tour: bags of Denver’s Corvus coffee with a ‘The Lumineers’ label for sale at merchandise stands.
Corvus Coffee founder Phil Goodlaxson said that the Lumineers vocalist, Wesley Schultz, sings high praises for Corvus Every Man blend.
“Wes was a fan of our Every Man blend,” Goodlaxson said. “He had just been buying it around town, at Whole Foods, and when they were recording in New York for part of their newest album, the studio contacted us and requested that we bring in the Every Man blend. They just kind of kept buying it and then when they were starting the tour, their manager said they were interested in doing a collaboration of coffee that they can sell with their merchandise on tour.”
Goodlaxson designed a label based off a t-shirt the band sells on tour and sent 60 pounds of coffee to The Lumineers. Each 12-ounce bag of coffee is being sold is $17.
The Lumineers are best known for their song ‘Ho Hey,’ which hit number two on the Billboard 200 chart in December 2012. The band started the tour for their second album, Cleopatra, in February and will share Corvus coffee and their new music at their 86 stops around the world.
The Every Man blend is one of the best-sellers at Corvus Coffee. It is used in their 1740 S. Broadway location for espresso.
Corvus is also adding more real estate to its repertoire. In April, Corvus signed a lease for a 5,000-square-foot warehouse and office on Sante Fe Dr., half a mile away from the South Broadway coffee shop. The warehouse will house a production space for cold brew coffee and the Corvus offices.
Corvus Coffee is also opening a cold brew coffee tap room in Belleview Station.
