Pizza 3.14’s days were numbered.
The Chicago-style pizza shop in Uptown shuttered last week after a two-and-a-half-year run at 225 E. 20th Ave.
The brand’s inaugural location in Boulder, which opened in 2021, also closed two weeks ago.
Co-owner David Daniel did not respond to a request for comment from BusinessDen. But he told Westword that the Denver location closed because of “the insanely long permitting process … that delayed our opening seven months, and being in a bad debt cycle ever since.”
He said a downtick in nightlife in Boulder’s University Hills neighborhood caused that location to shutter.

Meanwhile, along South Broadway in Englewood, the brunch spot Whiskey Biscuit has closed, according to its since-deleted Instagram account.
The restaurant was at 3299 S. Broadway for seven years, according to its website. It described itself as an “industrial-chic” restaurant featuring “down-home American eats plus a large selection of whiskey & craft beer.”
The business did not respond to requests for comment from BusinessDen.
