Michael Gale promises Denver’s newest mattress storefront won’t be a snoozefest.
“Customers will drive two, three hours to lay on our mattresses — no exaggeration,” he said.
Gale is the vice president of retail for Saatva, a nationwide mattress provider with showrooms from New York City to Los Angeles. The business will be opening its 25th location at 240 St. Paul St. in Cherry Creek in October.

Permit filings for the spot describe it as a 2,800-square-foot retail space, costing $747,000 to build out. That amounts to a cost of $271 per square foot. International design firm Ware Malcomb drew up the plans.
“Denver constantly ranked as one of our top performing e-commerce markets,” Gale said.
Saatva was founded in 2010 with a direct-to-consumer model. Its first storefront opened in 2019 in Manhattan.
The business selected Cherry Creek for its abundance of retail. It’s going into a storefront previously occupied by Parachute Home, a bed and bath store. A classic queen-sized mattress goes for $2,099. Gale emphasized that the company does not ship its products in boxes, which differentiates itself from competitors.
“We do white-glove delivery, free setup, we take your old mattress away, at no charge,” he said.
Saatva is working on adding other retail locations in Pasadena, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada, in the coming months. It’ll also be providing its mattresses to Olympians at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, Gale said. He hopes Saatva will rectify the mistakes of previous competitions, when athletes were sleeping on cardboard mattresses.
“They were sleeping on cots, it was a disgrace … they’re superhumans and they’re sleeping on cots,” Gale said.
Cherry Creek is a hot spot for showrooms, with many high-end furniture brands having a presence. The 240 St. Paul St. building is owned by Denver-based Gart Properties, which bought it in 2022.
