A Broomfield software company was the top Colorado firm on Inc. magazine’s list of the fastest-growing private companies, taking the No. 10 spot.
Alpine IQ said it offers “software revolutionizing customer data compliance within heavily regulated industries and addressing critical challenges in retail,” according to its bio. The magazine said it reported 2023 revenue was up 16,469 percent from to three years earlier.
In a separate news release, Alpine IQ said its 2023 revenue was $26 million, compared to $150,000 in 2020. The company was founded in 2019 by Nicholas Paschal, Shahzil Abid and West Paschal.
“When the pandemic brought brick-and-mortar sales to a standstill, many retailers were left struggling. But we saw an opportunity, Nicholas Paschal, who is CEO, said in a statement. “By partnering with leading point-of-sale systems and retail platforms, we developed a system that not only cleans up dirty data but sets a new industry standard, empowering retailers with accurate customer information.”
Ultimately, 132 Colorado companies made the 2024 version of the annual Inc. 5000 list, which was released this week. About 80 percent of those firms — 104 of them — said they’re based in the Denver metropolitan area, with another nine firms listing Boulder as their home base.
Eighty of the Colorado companies had previously been on the list.
Nabbing Colorado’s second spot, at No. 54, was The Luxe Room, a medical spa offering botox and other services across three locations in Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins. It reported 5,017 percent growth from three years prior.
In order to make it onto the Inc. 500 list, a business must have made at least $100,000 in revenue in 2020 and $2 million in 2023. Businesses must apply, which costs $495, and provide financial statements. Those that make it are ranked by their percentage of revenue growth between 2020 and 2023. The published list once included specific annual revenue figures, but no longer does.
