$9M Cherry Hills mansion deal tops area’s priciest home sales in July

July’s top sales in the Denver metro area include two homes in Boulder, two in Denver and one in Cherry Hills Village. 

The seven-bedroom, nine-bath mansion at 12 Viking Drive in Cherry Hills sold for $9 million on July 26, after listing for $9.5 million on April 24.

The buyers were Adam and Sarah Krier. Adam Krier is a partner at Equity Insurance Group, and both Kriers work with Notable Investments LLC.

The seller, 12 Viking Drive LLC, bought the property for $1.4 million in April 2019 and built the nearly 10,000-square-foot mansion in 2020.

The seven-bedroom, nine-bath home sits on nearly an acre and features a state-of-the-art kitchen with white oak glass-front cabinetry, marble countertops, and a Lacanche Range. 

The primary suite includes a private living room and access to a rooftop balcony with brick fireplace. The five-piece primary bath features dual-fitted closets and a steam shower. Secret hallways connect four additional bedroom suites. 

The lower level includes a wet bar, bunk room, gym and two guest suites. The grounds include a fresh-water pool and spa.

Details: This European Modern Farmhouse Estate, designed by Thom Filicia and built by Hammerwell Construction, was completed in 2017. The 6,906-square-foot mansion sits on a 5.24-acre site near Park Lake and Boulder Open Space, offering Flatiron and mountain views. 

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom home offers multiple offices and a five-car garage. Lauren Springer Ogden landscaped the property. 

THL 3 LLC of Marriottsville, Maryland, sold the home for its list price to inventor Jean-Hugues Wendling of Denver on July 16.

New York City interior designer David Frazier consulted on the interior, which provides a chef’s kitchen, breakfast nook, and pantry opening to the dining and family rooms. The primary suite has a private west-facing patio with mountain views. 

Seller Milwaukee Street LLC listed the home for $7.4 million on March 22. Forever Milwaukee LLC bought it for $7 million on July 19.

Details: This five-bedroom, six-bath, 7,475-square-foot mansion was initially listed for $8.8 million in September 2023. The listing was removed in December, and the home was then listed for $8.2 million before the listing was removed on March 12. It was listed again on March 27 for $7.7 million, and the sale of $6.9 million closed on July 15. 

David and Nichola Howson bought the 1978-built home for $800,000 in 2003 and rebuilt it from the foundation up in 2008. The home features concrete flooring with radiant heat throughout the main level. The chef’s kitchen includes double refrigerators, dishwashers, stacked ovens with a warming drawer, and double islands. The primary suite features a spa-like bath and bonus room. 

The home, which sits on 1.6 acres, also features a new outdoor living space with a pool and hot tub, outdoor kitchen and an automated pergola. 

From August 2021 to October 2023, David Howson served as chief operating officer for Congruex, a Boulder company that designs and builds integrated digital networks. 

The Jeffrey and Sally Friedman 2011 Trust purchased the home.

The three-bedroom, four-bath unit was crafted through a collaboration with sellers Forever Trust and Vail designer Sarah Carr. 

The condo features a state-of-the-art kitchen with a 20-foot island, a living room with a custom fireplace and surround-sound audio, and a media room. The primary suite features two custom closets and an ensuite bathroom. 

Forever Trust purchased the condo in August 2016 for $3.3 million. VA-CO LLC, a limited-liability corporation based in Richmond, Virginia, purchased the unit on July 10.
