A property near Denver International Airport where a hotel has been proposed is in foreclosure.
The 1.7-acre lot at 6211 N. Argonne St. in Denver is owned by Airport Hotel LLC, which bought it in July 2017, according to public records.
In July 2021, the owner took out a $925,000 loan from Pueblo-based PB&T Bank. The loan was to be paid off through monthly installments running through July 2031, records show.
PB&T filed to foreclose on the property on Monday, saying the property owner had failed to make payments and pay property taxes, and also failed to pay off a mechanic’s lien. About $752,500 is still owed on the loan, according to the bank.
Amandeep Dhillon and Jagmohan Dhillon signed the 2021 loan paperwork as managers of Airport Hotel LLC. They and the entity — which appears to be affiliated with a company called Galaxy Hotels Group — list an address in Frisco, Texas, on the outskirts of Dallas. BusinessDen’s attempt to reach them for comment was unsuccessful.
The property just east of Tower Road is near a cluster of hotels. A separate entity linked to the Dhillons owns a similarly sized adjacent parcel, which has the address of 6238 N. Tower Road.
The Dhillons have proposed a hotel on each of the two parcels, according to city records. One is near completion: a five-story hotel on the 6238 Tower parcel. It will be a TownePlace Suites, filings indicate.
But no construction has begun on the 6211 Argonne parcel in foreclosure. It is supposed to eventually house a six-story, 165-room AC Hotel, records show. For now, it is being used as a staging area as crews work on the TownePlace Suites.
Attorney Trevor Young of Colorado Springs’ Mulliken Weiner Berg & Jolivet is representing the lender.
