The national law firm Frost Brown Todd has opened a Denver office and begun to fill it out with a half-dozen lawyers from the recently gutted Moye White law firm.
“Onboarding started last week and is rolling into this week,” said FBT Chairman Robert Sartin.
Nine local lawyers have joined his firm as partners in its Denver office. Six moved over from Moye White, two from Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and one from Lewis Roca.
“Each member of our team has deep roots in the Denver area and possesses intimate knowledge of the unique needs of our growing business community,” John Kellogg, a Moye White alum who will run the new Denver office, said in a press release Wednesday.
In a surprise move, the national law firm Fennemore announced last week that it had hired 80 people from Moye White, including all but 10 of its attorneys. Moye White has refused to answer BusinessDen’s questions about that firm’s future since the April 1 announcement.
Meanwhile, Frost Brown Todd is occupying 11,000 square feet at 1801 California St. downtown. The firm expects that number to grow substantially in the coming years.
“We will be patient with our growth but ideally, in the next 24 to 36 months, we’d like to see at least 30 lawyers, probably closer to 40 or above,” Sartin said by video call Tuesday.
“What we’re doing is building out a truly national law firm,” he said of its now-17 offices.
Aside from Kellogg, other Moye White alums joining FBT are Keely Downs, Rebecca Givens, Steven Gockley, Tim Swanson and Jana Willsey. Dustin Charapata and Jennifer Eiteljorg are making the move from Brownstein and E. Job Seese from Lewis Roca.
Lewis Roca, a national firm based in Phoenix, announced Tuesday that it has hired three former Moye White lawyers: Daniel Wennogle, Nick Herrick and Lilly Lentz. All three specialize in construction and real estate litigation.
