When Larry Page built his 15,000-square-foot mansion at 4 Haystack Row in Cherry Hills Village in 2005, he arrived at the construction trailer at 6:30 a.m. and was the last person to leave each night.
“I’m a very detail-oriented person, and I wanted to make sure everything was done perfectly,” said Page, who owns Page-Mark and Page Digital, specializing in home networking and home automation.
“I’m good at solving problems and could short-circuit any delays.”
He spent two years working on-site. “I could work remotely before most people worked remotely,” he said.

Page, who was intimately involved in the design, scrapped one set of plans and hired another architect to ensure the home made the best use of its secluded 2.2-acre lot.
Now, he and his wife are ready to move on from the eight-bedroom, 12-bath home in the gated Buell Mansion community and listed it for $7.8 million.
The home includes caretaker quarters with an outside entrance over the garage.
“That’s been helpful for us since we travel, and it’s nice to have someone on-site to take care of things when we’re gone,” Page said.
The space also would be perfect for a nanny.
