Steve Cominsky is growing the Littleton social scene.

Three years after opening Social Bar & Lounge in the suburb, Cominsky added a second location about five miles away at 240 Village Park Drive.

The bar opened Dec. 15, located in an apartment complex in the Littleton Village neighborhood. The 3,500-square-feet space is staffed with 16 employees and has the same “vibe” as the first location, Cominsky said, but is slightly bigger.

“Number two came out of the gates pretty strong, we feel good about this model and people are loving it, so I think we found a niche within the suburban communities,” Cominsky said.

Cominsky, who’s lived in Littleton for nearly 15 years, wanted a “cool” spot for the 21-plus crowd to hang out.

“There’s a ton of great restaurants, there’s a ton of great taverns, but not the adults hanging out with other adults, socializing and having fun,” Cominsky said.

After years of joking about there being nowhere to go, Cominsky finally opened his dream bar.

Bill Balkovatz with Denver Commercial Realty helped him find and secure the second location. Jigsaw Architecture designed the space and Williams Construction built it out, but all aesthetic decisions were made by Dawn, Cominsky’s wife.

The Social Bar & Lounge has wine and prosecco on tap, draft beers and a rotating list of 14 cocktails. Patrons can also order small plates such as shrimp cocktail.

After opening the first bar at 3625 W. Bowles Ave., Cominsky told BusinessDen he could foresee himself opening five or 10 more – though he now thinks he should stick to five.

Cominsky said he’s already been searching for a third location outside of Littleton and expects to sign a lease before the end of the year.

“We fared okay during COVID, we survived and came out stronger, and if we can survive that, we have a strong road ahead of us,” Cominsky said.
