The new owner of The Shops at Northfield has added the real estate occupied by Macy’s.

An entity affiliated with Los Angeles-based Stockdale Capital Partners paid $8 million last week for the Macy’s property at 8298 Northfield Blvd. in Denver, according to public records.

Stockdale purchased the bulk of the open-air shopping center last year, paying $71 million. But the real estate occupied by Macy’s and Target were owned by those respective retailers, and not included in that deal.

A spokesman for Macy’s confirmed the sale and said the store continues to operate under a lease with the new owner. Macy’s recently announced it would close a store in the Foothills Mall in Fort Collins.

Stockdale didn’t respond to a request for comment on Tuesday. The Shops at Northfield is one of two Colorado properties the company owns. The other is the Source Hotel + Market Hall in RiNo, which the company purchased last August.

Other major tenants at The Shops at Northfield include J.C. Penney, Bass Pro Shops and Harkins Theatres Northfield 18. The shopping center is 1.1 million square feet, according to its website.
