Arc’teryx’s brief hibernation in Cherry Creek has ended.

The Vancouver-based outdoor apparel and gear company is opening a 4,000-square-foot location in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center at 3000 E. 1st Ave. this fall.

Arc’teryx previously operated a 3,500-square-foot store down the street at 250 Columbine St. from 2015 to January this year, when its lease ended.

“Our decision to relocate our store to Cherry Creek from a street front location was to make the location more accessible to shoppers who know and love Cherry Creek Shopping Center as their shopping destination of choice,” Arc’teryx spokeswoman Stephanie Jamieson said in an email.

Arc’teryx, which was founded in 1989 as a brand for climbers, sells apparel such as insulated jackets and vests along with climbing gear like harnesses and chalk bags. Its logo and name refers to Archaeopteryx, one of the first birds.

Arc’teryx is also opening a store at 1600 Pearl St. in Boulder this month, and another in the former Voicebox Karaoke space at 2601 Walnut St. in RiNo this winter.

The company also has an outlet in Castle Rock and a “Backcountry Experience” store in Durango.
