Arc’teryx likes the sound of joining Patagonia and Burton in RiNo.
The Vancouver-based outdoor apparel and gear company plans to open at 2601 Walnut St., where Voicebox Karaoke currently operates.
Arc’teryx, which did not respond to requests for comment, previously operated out of a 3,500-square-foot space at 250 Columbine St. in Cherry Creek. It opened there in 2018 and closed in January when its lease was up.

Arc’teryx’s website says it will reopen a Denver location this summer. The company is also considering a location in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, according to sources.
Voicebox Karaoke opened its 10-room karaoke lounge in the 4,500-square-foot space on Walnut Street in 2016 and will move out at the end of June. Owner Scott Simon told BusinessDen the Portland-based business will move to another spot in Denver.
Voicebox’s building in RiNo is owned by Edens, a real estate firm that has cumulatively spent about $80 million on property in the neighborhood since 2018, and has plans to redevelop an additional block currently owned by the nonprofit Volunteers of America Colorado. Both Patagonia and Burton also lease from Edens.

“Arc’teryx’s values are closely aligned with our own, and we think they’ll be a great fit for the Five Points neighborhood and RiNo Art District,” Edens Managing Director Tom Kiler told BusinessDen in a written statement.
Arc’teryx, founded in 1989, sells apparel such as insulated jackets and vests along with climbing gear like harnesses and chalk bags. Its logo and name refer to Archaeopteryx, one of the first birds.
Elsewhere in Colorado, the company has an outlet in Castle Rock and a “Backcountry Experience” store in Durango. Arc’teryx also recently leased a store in Boulder on Pearl Street, which has yet to open.
