The city of Denver wants to build a new kind of housing project for the homeless.
The city’s Department of Housing Stability said Monday it had issued a request for proposals for “an innovative project to resolve homelessness, comprised of a mixture of shelter and permanent housing.”
The city is seeking proposals from teams with documented property ownership, either through a deed, purchase and sale agreement, or option agreement. Proposals could be from developers, service providers and shelter operators, the department said.
Department representatives are interested in projects in any part of Denver, and the proposals should include a “thoughtful plan” of how residents will access services and employment if applicable.
People who are interested can submit their proposals at this link until 3 p.m. Dec. 29. A pre-bid virtual meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 8.
